content imageBishop Dr. Owhe is a graduate of University of Lagos, Nigeria, and had a Bachelors of Arts degree in Geography, 1984; Advanced Computer Literacy, EEOC, New York Technical College, CUNY, 1991; Certificate in Leadership Development, Center for Law & Social Justice, Medgar Evers College-CUNY, 1993; Masters of Science in Management & Urban Policy at the New School University for Social Research & Urban Policy, New York, 1994; Certified Facilitator, Marriage Therapist Franklin Covey, 2004; Doctor of Ministry, University of Jerusalem, 2007. Dr. Owhe is an ordained minister of Full Gospel Assemblies, Coatesville, PA., in 1995 and ordained Bishop-rick position in 2010.
His professional experience in ministry, business and nonprofits, spans three decade and a half. He founded Christ the Rock World Restoration Church International, Inc, in July 1995; The Rockgate Community Development, Inc., in December 2000; and the Rock World Restoration Mission International, Inc., March 2003; The Rockgate International Management Group Inc., April 2005.

Among the pioneering efforts of Bishop.Dr Jonathan E. Owhe is:

  • Comprehensive Youth & Mentoring Program with A Day Care, an After School, Physical Fitness/Dance, Entrepreneurship/TV, Music/Drama & Cultural Enrichment Programming;
  • Christ the Rock Bible Institute in Joint Relationship with the Oral Roberts University
  • Faith in Action & Health Services a volunteer care program, funded by Robert Wood Johnson Foundation to help the elderly, frail and home-bound becomes independent.
  • Infant Mortality Reduction Initiative, funded by New York City Department of Health and Coalition Partner-Brooklyn Prenatal Network;
  • HIV/AIDS/Substance Abuse Outreach & Education, Funded in part by New York City Council and Black Leadership Commission on AIDS, we are working in partnership with several Coalition Partners; Brooklyn Advisory Recovery Center;
  • Child & Adult Health Insurance, working in Partnership with major HMO’s, the Mayor’s Office and Health Plus; Brooklyn Perinatal Network.
  • Physical Fitness Program (dance & aerobic classes) Seed money by New York State Association of Country Health Officials, and currently supported by Christ the Rock Church.
  • Food Bank Outreach Center; serve as a resource center for Food Bank; we provide referrals to individuals in need of services at various city, state, federal and neighborhood organizations.
  • United Way of NYC/Federation of Protestant Welfare Agency. Provide food pantry to over 50 families weekly in East New York section of Brooklyn.
  • ACCESS NYC. Provide free computer access resources of over 30 city, state and federal services.
  • Rockgate Employment Agency

Bishop. Dr. Owhe is also the President & Founder of The Rockgate International Management Group– Oversee all strategic initiatives; provide consulting services to churches, business start-up and non-profit Organizations, in the area of project analysis and design, program-development, strategic plan, staff development and fund-raising; provide training and counseling to couples and families in the area of stress management, conflict resolution, divorce, communication, abstinence, and bereavement; Coordinates international trading, out-sourcing and shipping; serves as intermediaries for major commodities sellers and buyers; assist organizations with personal planning, search and placement; assist the unemployed to both career planning, job search and placement opportunity; assist international students with overseas colleges and universities admissions.

From 1995-1996, Dr. Owhe served as Director of Public Relations, Development & Human Resources

At the Brooklyn Perinatal Network, Inc. (Infant mortality -reduction & maternal health initiative; case management; youth development activities: nutrition & workshops; advocacy, network and coalition building); Responsible for developing organizational fund-raising and public relations strategic initiatives; organize fund-raising special events, wrote PSA, and marketed agencies programs; conducted interviews, staff development and condition of service.

1995-1997 Dr. Owhe served as Director of Program & Project Development and Vice President of-Human Resources, Central Brooklyn Coordinating Council, Inc. (Foster care & Adoption, NYC; crime victim & family services, NYC: transitional housing & urban renewal project, NYC: Hit V/aid’s network, NYC; family intervention services, NYC; Chief administrative- adviser to the President/CEO; responsible for agency’s strategic initiatives; project design and project plan; coordinated the public relations department; coordinated direct mail campaign, capital campaign and private, public, corporate and foundation monies; oversee the human resource department and coordinate all training and staff development activities.

1989-1993 Field Project Coordinator, Save the Children, New York (youth sponsorship; national & international relief projects; philanthropy) Responsible for the planning and implementation of the Brooklyn strategic plan; coordinated Save the Children sponsorship and education projects in public schools, alternative school and day-care centers; conducted community needs assessment and recommended and- executed awards to Brooklyn community projects; other responsibilities included, organizing picnics and academic

shows for school children; monitoring of funded projects; writing reports; and engage in direct and indirect fund-raising solicitations and community support from Foundations, Corporations and Elected officials.

1987-89, Director of Graduate Employment & Small Scale Industry Initiatives., National Directorate -of Employment, Benin City, Nigeria- (Apprenticeship program; agricultural projects; social works program; and small scale industries) Head of department responsible for the planning, coordination and implementation of department mission, goals and objectives; interviewed, enrolled, organized orientation-and awarded grants and loans to unemployed graduates; liaised with universities and colleges to recruit lecturers and conducted unemployed graduate entrepreneurship development workshops; liaised with the State

Department of Commerce & Industries and banking institutions to review applications, award grants/loans- and monitor businesses established; other responsibilities included- writing feasibility studies; write monthly, bi-annual and annual reports; and represented the department in both internal and external meetings.

Bishop Dr. has received numerous awards. He is one of the recipient of the Congressional Black Caucus, United States Congress, Congressional Award, April 18, 2005; Central Brooklyn Coordinating Council, 1nc. Key-Stone Award, 1996; and numerous citations and city and state proclamations.

Bishop Owhe is a member of the New York Council on Non-Profits; and the New York Society of Association Executives;
